God, Where Are You When I Need You?
God, please help me!
From infancy, we are
taught that God is gracious, forgiving, and loving; God is almighty, He is
always there to protect us, and He is our Savior.
With this in mind, the
image of God began to develop in our minds from infancy. In that picture, we
see God as a robust and dependable person who will be with us whenever we need
Him. And in this image of God, we pray in complete faith and love!
But we all know that
certain things are a part of everyone's life. We love when things go well, not
what worries us! When life is good, we are confident and proud of everything we
do. But when things get out of hand, we look to God for help, and we are
convinced that He will come to our rescue.
As circumstances change,
our gratitude to God and our faith and reverence have multiplied repeatedly.
But what if things do not work out that way? What's worse is that we can pray,
but things get worse, worse, worse. We cry, 'God, please help me, but nothing
happens...
These life stages are
confusing and cause us to ask, 'Where is God when I need you?'
You are kind and loving,
so why not help me?
You are the Almighty, so
why do you not save me?
Some even blame God,
believing that He is the Source of their pain and suffering; others prefer to
remain calm considering that God is testing them.
There are many
superstitions in which a person is caught, and they often jump from one to the
other to try to get the desired result. But when he encounters failure after
failure. From him comes a genuine desire to know what is right; what the facts
behind this experience are.
Therefore, let us try to
find the correct answer to our question - 'Where is God when I need you?' The
first step in solving the problem is to find out 'Who is God really?'
Do you know that God is
real to us? Yes! The spiritual consciousness is not our body, but He is a pure
consciousness soul, living in our body, and He is God himself! Therefore, God
is not a reasonable creature that resides in the heavens.
God is the eternal Spirit
Consciousness who dwells in all living things. God is always present in every
live person, whether we need Him or not, whether we see Him or not, whether we
seek Him or not.
Who, then, is to blame
for our suffering? God or someone else?
When suffering comes, we
forget to find our fault, and we quickly blame others; we do not hesitate to
blame God for our errors. You may have heard people complain, 'What did I do wrong?
Why does God give me so
much suffering?
'This is because they
believe that God is the maker of the earth and the One who runs the world.
People keep saying.
"Nothing
in this world can happen without His will, so He is directly or indirectly
responsible for all my suffering."
Logically, if God is the
giver, why does he give us sorrow, not joy? How can we call such a thing God,
who finds pleasure in seeing people weep?
The correct understanding
is that God has never done anything on earth. He is not the Creator of the
universe, nor does He control it. Whatever we see and feel in this world, it is
not God's doing anything that happens. God does not intervene at all.
Since we do not know who
the actual maker is, we are claiming God. And in doing so, we only put a lot of
guilt on our heads, and we will also have to pay a fine for suffering the most.
When God does nothing, how can we blame Him?
If God is not the One who does, then who?
Who sends misery into my life?
Everything that happens in this world is
the result of Nature's law - the law of cause and effect!
We have created a cause,
and we are getting the result. Each of us faces the consequences of our
actions. Whatever misery we experience today is the result of our past actions.
The law of the consequences of our
actions is such that the smallest misery we give to any living thing comes back
to us in the form of torture. Also, the very little help we give to any living
thing comes back to us in the form of service in a given time.
Therefore, if we want to
be happy, we must never harm any living thing through thought, word, or deed.
The more we understand this, the more we will find the solution to our global
problems!
If God does nothing, what
role does God play in our bodies?
In the dark, can we see
or know what is around us?
No! Of course not! Also, before the light
comes from a lamp, we can do all our work.
So, then, can it be said
that 'light has made
it?
No, light does not 'do'
work, but there is nothing we can do in the dark without it. Just as a lamp
gives light to a room, spiritual consciousness, which is called God, gives
light to all living people.
God's role is none other than the
enlightenment of knowledge for all living beings.
How we make full use of
God's light is up to us. Like the light of a lamp, it is up to us whether we
use the light to read religious literature or play cards and gamble.
Moreover, the light does
not benefit us by using it to do good things and does not punish us for doing
bad things in front of it.
Likewise, God does not
have to come to punish us, but it is our actions based on how Nature benefits
us or punishes us.
Therefore, to conclude:
God lives in all living
things. But He never gives us joy or pain. It is because of the results of our
actions that we experience joy and sorrow in life. Otherwise, only God knows
and sees everything while sitting in His eternal presence.
