How To Focus on What is God like?
Worship that is not
focused on prayer is not helpful.
From infancy, we are
taught that we should serve God. We also serve God in various ways, such as
singing, dancing, meditating, etc. However, while we are doing all this
worship, is our focus really on God?
Often, we find that even
though we are physically active in these activities, our minds are wandering.
As a result, we do not receive the work that comes to our worship because of
our lack of mental devotion.
So how can we stay
focused on God?
Focus Brings Fruit
One can focus on where
one is interested. When we count the money in our homes or go shopping for
clothes, do we notice how our mind is listening and how it stands? How much of
our focus is on what is being done?
If we have the same
desire for God, we will not have difficulty concentrating on God. When we fail
to focus on God, it means that we have no interest in God.
When love for God grows
within us, the mind will not be shattered, and we will be able to focus
quickly. The mind wanders, following things that we think are important.
The more we think about it, the more we cling to it.
God's message is simple:
'If you want to stick to
earthly life, go ahead and stick to it; or, cling to God. If you adhere to God,
you will find eternal happiness, and if you stick to the rules of this world,
you will never be satisfied!'
We are drawn to and
attracted to material things as long as we are interested in those things. If
we take God seriously, materialism will automatically disappear. Therefore, it
is essential to change our actions.
Why does longing for God
not come easily?
It is because we have not
seen God. We've seen clothes and their beautiful colours, so our interest grows
naturally in that.
But how can one form an
interest in something that one has never seen or experienced before? Things
will change drastically if we ever see God. But God is not seen. So, what are
we doing now?
Develop a desire for
self-realization, a representative of God.
We see our identity
directly with our eyes, personally. This identity makes it much easier to find
our interest in God. And the authentic self is that one does not have to do
much to develop one's interest in Him; it arises spontaneously.
Everyone feels a natural
attraction to Him - we feel like we see Him, we feel like we are with Him all
the time. When our passion is based on self-realization, that desire reaches
directly to God!
Did you know?
Self-awareness does not
grow by force. It appears without hypocrisy. Self-awareness grows automatically
when you experience a particular outcome, gain somehow or experience some
change within yourself.
You do not need a beat to
be self-realized, it will emerge and arouse automatically, and when it comes,
it will never forsake you in any situation.
