Does God Forgive Me for My Evil or Does God Punish Me?
Does God punish us when
we do wrong? If a person were to steal today, his act of theft would be a
consequence of his actions. The fruits of these effects of his deeds will come
in this same period; he will be ashamed, and Nature will punish him.
But it is not God who is
punishing him!
God never approves of
punishment for anyone, nor does He favour anyone. The sentence or reward we
receive is all the result of our actions because of our causes. And this effect
is given to us by Nature. The provider of justice in this country is this
mechanical, inanimate structure.
Example: Nature, whose laws
are such that we automatically find the result of our actions with which we are
bound.
If we are to blame for our wrong actions,
we must suffer. Likewise, when we commit ourselves to the results of our good
works, we find happiness.
This action is how the
law of Nature governs the earth. There is not even a single moment when the
world is living without regulation.
There is no such thing as
right or wrong to God, good or bad; therefore, God never intervened.
Consequently, we should not believe in God as the Supreme Authority, which
punishes us when we are guilty; live in godly fear.
Instead of fearing God,
we should be afraid to make mistakes, which will cause us suffering and
punishment.
So why do people advise
us, 'Man should fear God'?
To answer that, let us
examine what it means to fear God:
What the Fear of God
Means
To fear God means to have
a healthy reverence for God, which is a good thing, for it brings a sincere
commitment to listen to His words and to follow the path He has shown.
Even if a person seems to
be God-fearing, his fear of God reflects his deep respect for God. It reflects
his desire to live his life in harmony with God's will, not his own. It also
reveals how much he wants to please God, who loves him deeply, and for that, he
was afraid to offend him in any way.
Does God forgive me for
my mistakes?
No matter how careful we
are, we make mistakes. However, God does not need to forgive us because He has
never seen anyone as righteous or unrighteous. God is a Pure Consciousness who
lives in the universe of all living things, who is not partial and who sees
everything, which is all!
But do you know that by
accepting the three-step process of asking for forgiveness in the testimony of
God, we can remove the very roots of our mistakes that cause us suffering?
Suppose someone stole
from you today. Not by defending or concealing your wrongdoing before God, if
you do, for pure motives:
• Make a heartfelt
confession, through his mistake, "Lord"! I admit I stole ',
• Be remorsefully and ask
for forgiveness, Oh Lord! I beg your pardon, too.
• Be earnestly and ask
God for strength to keep your promise, never to make that mistake again,
saying, 'Oh God! Please give me strength so that I do not steal again;
By doing this, your old
motto, 'There is nothing wrong with stealing,' will begin to change, 'Stealing
is wrong.' Any mistakes made are the result of a wrong perception.
Changing the mindset is the most
outstanding achievement. If the perception changes entirely within a person,
that person will cease to be a violator of Nature, so Nature will not punish
him.
Apologizing helps to end
the punishment we receive from Nature for the consequences of our actions. For
example, the vision that leads us to make this mistake. When the root of the
problem is removed, we will never make that mistake again.
So, when we make a
mistake, instead of being afraid, if we choose to make peace immediately, the
consequences of our actions will be like a burning fire shut up in our hearts.
But if we fail to make
peace with our wrongdoing, we will continue to reap the evil deeds' rewards,
and we will continue to be punished. The choice is just ours!
